VILLA TARGET THREE GAMES WITHOUT DEFEAT

Aston Villa are targeting three games without defeat ahead of their away game against Leeds United this weekend. The two teams will meet in the Premier League on Sunday for the first time this season. Steven Gerrard and his Villa players go into the game as the form team after securing four points from their last two league outings.

Steven Gerrard was under immense pressure to keep his job as the Aston Villa boss after a poor start to the season. His team won once and lost four of their first five games. Villa stopped their run of three straight defeats with the impressive 1-1 draw at home to holders Manchester City. Steven Gerrard got his tactics right as it secured an unlikely point against the reigning Premier League winners thanks to the strike from Jamaican star Leon Bailey after Erling Haaland had given City the lead just after the half-time break.

Aston Villa are on a run of two games without defeat ahead of the trip to Elland Road to take on Leeds United and they can make it three games without defeat if they manage at least a draw at the end of the game.

For Leeds United, they are on a winless run in the Premier League ahead of their game against Aston Villa this weekend. The Lilywhites have not won any game since they saw off Barnsley in the second round of the League Cup. Leeds United sealed a place in the League Cup third round thanks to the 3-1 win over League One outfit Barnsley. They are yet to manage a win in the Premier League since beating Chelsea convincingly at home last month. Brendan Aaronson, Rodrigo Moreno and Jack Harrison scored to give Leeds United a 3-0 win over the Blues who are the immediate past European champions.
