Henrique wants to secure a regular starting role in Brisbane Roar

The Brazilian born winger of Brisbane Roar, Henrique originally joined Brisbane Roar back in 2009 with the purpose of serving as a backup option for Reinaldo but Henrique has slowly been getting more and more playing time in the main team of the Australian side.

Henrique still hasn’t turned into one of the most influential or important players in the team of John Aloisi as his playing time is limited but even though he is mainly serving as a substitute and back-up option in the Australian outfit, Henrique has stated that he wants to stay with the club for as long as possible.

The contract of Henrique is reaching it’s last stages as it only has around 6 months before expiring and the Brazilian born performer is hoping that what he has accomplished so far has been enough to impress the manager John Aloisi and offer the 30 year old player a new contract.

“Every week I’ve been scoring goals. I am not sure about contracts now. I am just essentially on my football and I’m pretty sure if I keep playing like I have been, the contract will sort out. For me, for my family, it is a big thing. I am really happy to be Australian,” Henrique said.

The 30 year old player wants to continue working hard in Brisbane Roar and eventually seal a consistent spot in the main lineup of John Aloisi, this is something that he has failed to do despite having joined the Australian outfit over 5 years ago. Read more »

Steven Gerrard will not Join the Rival Team says John

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will not be joining the Premier League rivals according to club legend John Aldridge.

Gerrard’s future remains under a cloud of doubt since he is set to sign a new contract. His current deal comes to an end at the end of the campaign. Gerrard has spoken about the desire to sign extension but it is understood that Liverpool have not offered him a new deal yet. The club will have reasons to be sceptical about providing another 12 months to the 34-year-old given his age, but Gerrard has been a regular first-team player in the last 18 months.

He appears to have moulded his game sufficiently to carry on playing without any issues. He is no longer the player to score more than 15 league goals per season, but he has found the back of the net on five occasions this campaign. After the retirement of Thierry Henry, New York Red Bulls are thought to be interested in signing Gerrard as their new marquee player. Gerrard will seem an attractive proposition for the MLS clubs for the next few years. Aldridge says that he expects Gerrard to sign for a foreign club if he does leave Liverpool, but he has ruled out a move to the likes of Manchester City.

“If Stevie was to move I’m sure it wouldn’t be to another English club. I hope that doesn’t happen. For me, he’s Liverpool’s best player of all time and will still be there next season. He’s a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch,” said Aldridge. He also claimed that the absence of Daniel Sturridge has been a major reason for Liverpool’s struggles this season. “We scored 100 goals last year, but we lost are two top strikers who got 50 of them, and if you don’t replace them you are going to struggle,” continued Aldridge.
