A true Liverpool fan at heart, old enough to have seen this game should get tingles down their spine every time they watch this due to how important the goal was and where it led Liverpool to that year. Undoubtably one of the best strikes of a football the game has ever seen… To toe-poke a bouncing volley which was coming diagonally across the player… How Gerrard didn’t rip or R.I.P. the net from that shot is unknown. Amazing!

As much as I like Ray Wilkins, Alan Smith and all the newer commentators, (excluding the ratface monotone that is Gary Neville) this commentary is superb and the new guys just cant cant match it. I well and truly miss Andy Gray’s commentary, it made this goal that extra bit special.
It seems that in recent years sky are trying to diminish my sporting enjoyment, stealing F1 from an incredible all-round BBC team and removing 2 brilliant footballing anchors in Gray and Keys. Its a real shame.
