    Unlike most of the Gerrard haters, who are jealous of his huge success at
    Liverpool, here’s an honest opinion from a fan who looks at both sides.

    Lampard, in terms of stats, is better. Far better in fact, but does that
    mean I’d rather have him over Gerrard? No chance.

    Both are English legends and should be treated as such. Gerrard provides a
    level of leadership and motivation that Lampard can only dream of.

    I like and respect both of these premier league legends, for me though, I
    would prefer LAMPARD all day long. LAMPARD is the better all round player.
    Also, Gerard had himself to blame for not winning the premier league, that
    is probably the biggest mistake of his career, he mis-controlled an easy
    pass and slip. Yes, he has carried Liverpool but that mistake would mean
    that he cost Liverpool their first ever premier league title. If they drew
    that game, Liverpool would have won the league, obviously. Suarez was the
    main man that season for Liverpool anyway.

    Both are legends. Lampard has a bit better stats and bigger influence in
    the Champions League , but however Gerrard achieved the thing that nobody
    can achieve, motivate his team to win the CL after loosing 3:0 at the
    halftime , this is just… Great. They are good in different occasions

    Gerrard played in what was the worst Liverpool team ever in their history,
    and managed what he has done. He carried Liverpool for 4-5 seasons. He is
    an all round package. Lampard is a better midfielder, but Gerrard is a
    better PLAYER. He has played everywhere for Liverpool apart from in goal.
    Don’t get me wrong, Lampard is good, but Gerrard will always be better.

    both legends but Gerrard is better then lampard all lampard can do is kick
    goals Gerrard can assist kick goals and defend he is the complete package
    lampard scores goals when chelsea is up a goal or two Gerrard scores goals
    when the team is in trouble and looking for a hero Steven Gerrard is a
    better player then Frank Lampard is

    The answer is quite simple.

    Frank Lampard is the better player by a whisker.

    Everything Gerrard has done, Lampard has done more. He has the goal ratio
    of a top class striker, scoring 20 goals a season for 5 consecutive
    seasons, he gets around the same in assists.

    Everyone says Gerrard is the full package because he can attack, defend,
    pass, long range, set pieces etc, why dont they say the same about Lampard,

    There seems to be a myth that Gerrard is a “great” at defending, the
    majority of people base this on youtube videos of Gerrard making a few
    dramatic bone crunching tackles and they say he’s great defensively.
    Whereas Lampard is as good, if not better defensively his positional sense
    is brilliant to intercept and he’s a great tackler.

    In fact I’d say the only things that Gerrard is better at are speed and set
    piece delivery. In terms of “big games” Lampard has finished in top 4
    goalscoreres everytime chelsea have won the league, he almost single
    handedly delivered the early titles under mourinho. He’s also scored in fa
    cup and champions league finals same as Gerrard, yet people only praise
    Gerrard.

    However the major difference between them is that Gerrard was born with
    natural talent, Speed, aggression, passing range etc all came naturally to
    him. Frank Lampard was just an average footballer like anyone but he
    practised so hard on his he MADE himself world class when really he didnt
    have the natural talent for it.. That is why Lampard has my respect.

    Gerrard is the better overall player and has carried a bpl side o are shit
    and he has still won trophies including the greatest champions league final
    of all time. Lampard has had great players around him for his success. If
    you put lampard and gerrard on a one on one gerrard would completely
    dominate him because he’s a better tackle, passer, leader, a lot more pace
    than fat frank, a better long range shot than anyone I have ever seen and
    he’s a leader who drives a team for forward by himself. Lampard has not got
    them qualities as a leader. Jt beat him to the armband, says it all really.

    Helloooooo, Chelsea won 2-0 with Liverpool not 1-0 so he didn’t ruin it.
    And if you take a look at Gerrard’s free kicks. Wow. Amazing. He’s a real
    legend!

    It doesn’t matter about statistics. Frank Lampard is clearly seen as the
    better player. Better shooting, better with the ball!

    Gerrard has had been in an average Liverpool team for a long time, while
    Lampard has been in one of the best sides in europe for years, both are
    amazing players but Gerrard has to be better as he is everything Lampard is
    and more. If Lampard played at Liverpool and Gerrard was at Chelsea there
    is only one winner Gerrard because he would of been around an amazing team.
    Gerrard has a leadership that Lampard could only wish about.

    both of them are the players of same skill and quality. There is one
    difference between them that is—-Gerrard plays in Liverpool and Lampard
    plays in Chealsea

    Most of Gerrard’s goals are created from other people creating a chance and
    giving him the ball where as Lampard’s skill and technicality allowed him
    to create the chances and finish them

    I’m a chelsea fan but I say stevie g is better simply because we have had
    legends such as Cech terry drogba and ballack at chelsea but in Liverpool
    Gerrard was always th eir talisman and they need him a lot more than we
    need lamps their would be no Liverpool without Gerrard I was actually
    hoping that Liverpool would win the title instead of man city but not
    chelsea as Liverpool really deserved it
