LEAGUE REDEMPTION FOR GERRARD AT RANGERS

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has enhanced his managerial reputation after leading Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title at the expense of Celtic. Celtic were the favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title at the start of the season but Steven Gerrard has been able to change that with the league title confirmed earlier on Sunday. Steven Gerrard is seen by many Liverpool fans as the natural successor to JurgenKlopp at the club and he won’t have done his chances of managing his beloved club any harm at all with the achievement of leading Rangers to the league title ahead of Celtic. The league title for him at Rangers is coming at a time that JurgenKlopp is struggling at Anfield. The German tactician has masterminded a poor run of six straight defeats at home. Relegation threatened Fulham are the latest team to beat Liverpool at home following the 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon. Southampton loanee Mario Lemina was the hero for Fulham after he scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time. Gabonese international midfielder Mario Lemina is on loan for the season at Fulham from fellow Premier League club Southampton. Before the Fulham game at home, the Reds had lost to two relegation candidates Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion in addition to defeats from league leaders Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton.

Steven Gerrard is undoubtedly a Liverpool legend having played the whole of his career at the club. Steven Gerrard was not able to win the league title as a player at Liverpool but he has now been able to redeem himself by winning the league as a manager. Gerrard had come close to winning the Premier League title with the Reds during the 2013/14 season until he slipped in the disappointing home game against Chelsea to hand Manchester City the initiative in the race for the league title. The Manuel Pellegrini-led Manchester City team would go on to win the league title that season.
