Steven Gerrard has been strongly linked with the vacant manager’s job at Tottenham Hotspur but he’s not expected to leave Rangers for North London. It is believes that the managerial job at Liverpool could be the only threat to Gerrard leaving Rangers at the moment.

Gerrard has a long-term contract that runs until 2024 at Rangers whom he has already led to the Scottish Premiership title after almost a decade without any form of league title in the top flight of club football in Scotland.

Reports earlier this week revealed that Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp could work away from the club this season due to the participation in the European Super League and the German tactician was forced to clarify that those rumours were not true.

Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) see Steven Gerrard as the long-term replacement for Klopp at Anfield and it’s almost certain that the ex-Reds skipper would be the obvious target if Klopp leaves the club. Gerrard would find it difficult to turn down an approach from the Liverpool owners for his dream job.

Steven Gerrard is widely regarded as one of the most promising young managers in the game and he has done his reputation a lot of favours with his track record at Rangers. He was a target for Newcastle United before the club appointed Steve Bruce at the start of the last campaign. Gerrard turned down the chance to manage the Magpies. The ex-England national team skipper has also been linked with the Aston Villa job apart from the Spurs to underline his status as one of the most promising managers in British football.
