VILLA ON LOSING RUN FOR LEICESTER

Aston Villa are on a losing run in the Premier League ahead of their trip to face Leicester City this weekend. The Foxes play hosts to Steven Gerrard and his Villa players who are on a four-match losing run on the Premier League scene. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is under pressure to end the current poor form that has seen Villa drop to 15th spot on the Premier League log.

Steven Gerrard began his Villa managerial career with four wins from six Premier League games when he replaced the sacked Dean Smith in the role in November, but things have turned upside down for him in recent weeks following the run of four successive league defeats. Aston Villa suffered their heaviest defeat this season after they were hit for four by North London club Tottenham Hotspur without any reply. South Korean attacker Son Heung-Min scored a treble to lead Spurs to a 4-0 away win over Villa for what’s their joint best win of the season alongside the 4-0 away win over Leeds United.

VILLA DESERVE DEFEAT TO ARSENAL – GERRARD

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard was very frank in his assessment of the Premier League clash between his team and Arsenal as he said that the Gunners completely deserved their win. Speaking at the end of the league encounter which took place at Villa Park last week Saturday, Steven Gerrard told reporters that his team didn’t do enough in the game especially in the first half.

VILLA TURN DOWN LUIZ BID

Aston Villa have reportedly rejected a bid from an unnamed Premier League team for one of their players. Popular media portals such as Marca (Spain), Daily Star (England) confirmed that Villa turned down a £30m bid for the Brazilian midfielder who has played nine times for his country.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard sees Luiz as an important member of his midfield and he’s keen to hold on to him. Steven Gerrard and other senior Villa officials are keen to hand him a new deal to ward off the interest of the clubs interested in him. One of the teams eyeing a move for Luiz is Arsenal. The midfielder has 18 months left on his contract and Villa might be forced to cash in on him this summer if he does not sign a new contract.

Former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is in the frame for the Newcastle United job according to the report via the Daily Record. It was revealed that Howe is one of several managerial options for the new club owners at Newcastle United.


Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was also under consideration as the Magpies try to find a suitable replacement for Steve Bruce. Rangers have been boosted with the news that manager Steven Gerrard is on course to return to the dugout this weekend. Steven Gerrard was one of several Rangers staff affected by the Covid-19 chaos at the club shortly before the international break.
